(This post is about my recently released song...)
How I met my song
Lazy man / Rumminte kalikal - is my 1st officially released music composition.
I made this song years before, when I was working in Kolkata.
I only wrote 2 lines then,
Ithu entha rumminte kaliyo, ippozho jeevitham jeevitham..
Iniyennum ithu ente moham, ippozho jeevitham jeevitham...
The motive was that to have fun during the booze parties.
Having said this, I'm strongly against alcohol addiction and consumption of other additives.
After moving to Harlow, Essex, UK; I bought my guitar and started doing gigs for my freinds.
The combination with an acoustic guitar, made this song a good piece of reggae.
I wrote the lyrics further, and completed it by adding some tune progressions. Also added some hummings to spice-up the melody and mood.
Change of plans
My initial plan was to release the song on youtube myself, with my wife dancing in some portions of the song. And I even recorded it, but it wasn't great as I had only poor equipments.
One day, very casually I sang this in front of my freind Sherin Kollannoor, who has done music composition and production before. It was his plan to convert this song to, as it is now.
He created the track and unfortunately my vocals were bit high for it. Also his vocals nailed along with the track. I feel proud that, my music made him sing. LOL...
It took us ages to release it on youtube. Cant blame anyone, as we are professionally nurses, and were doing such, when we were free.
My role
What else, I'm the awesome music composer, lyricist and the drunkard actor in the video.
Set backs
Only thing I regret about the song is that it lost the purity and innosence of 'reggaeness'. Dont even know if thats a word.
Future and future
When I'm on right mood, I will be creating a Guitar cover + tutorial video and relasing it on youtube. And you will get to see and listen, what I am talking about right now.
See yaaa...
