Just passing this information.

If your partner earns or earned less than 12,500 pounds annually, you can claim tax relief for upto the last 4 years.

I saved more than 500 pounds for the last 2 to 3 years.

Applicable to all Tier 2 visa holders & dependents as well...

As this 'marriage allowance' is not considered a public fund, unlike 'child benefit', you dont have to repay it, during your Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) application, otherwise known as Permenent Residence (PR) application.

What you need to do?

Create a pension account with HMRC for yourself and your partner, using the following link.

https://www.gov.uk/log-in-register-hmrc-online-services

The person whom earned less (<12,500£) need to apply for the allowance, so that the person earning more will get this benefit.

Login to the above link and click on the 'Marriage Allowance' link..

Bonus Tip of the day

If you are a professional, who pays for any professional council as an annual fees, you may apply to get a tax relief for that too, for upto the last 4 years.

For eg: I'm a nurse and I pay to my professional body - the NMC council, annually. I got more than 50 pounds, which is enough for my 1 week grocery.

Use the same link to login and avail this benefit.

Thank you. Please share this maximum.
